DEVELOPMENT OF SUPER HIGH DENSITY 30-INCH DIAGONAL TFT LCD WITH SFT2 TECHNOLOGY
For immediate use Apr. 27, 2016
NLT Technologies, Ltd.
KAWASAKI, JAPAN, April 27, 2016 --- NLT Technologies, Ltd. (NLT, President: Deshu Yu; Head office: Kawasaki, Kanagawa) announces development of a prototype of a new 30-inch wide format LCD, with resolution of 3280 x 2048 pixels (6 mega pixels, or 6MP).
This is the first 30-inch screen size developed by NLT. The 6MP 30-inch display delivers superior high density image quality making it possible to display twice the amount of information on a single display as compared to NLT’s conventional 21.3-inch 3 mega pixel display. The 30-inch 6MP display is well suited for medical diagnostic applications because more graphic data and images are displayed more efficiently.
The prototype incorporates NLT’s Super Fine TFT 2 (SFT2) technology which improves contrast ratio approximately 30% compared to NLT’s conventional 21.3-inch displays. SFT2 is NLT’s proprietary new version of its Super Fine TFT technology, comparable to In-Plane Switching. SFT2 significantly improves the aperture ratio compared to conventional TFT via a newly developed pixel structure, resulting in both high density and excellent display performance yielding wide viewing angles, wide color gamut, and high transmissivity, while keeping power consumption low.
Samples of the new 30-inch 6MP model are scheduled to be available in August 2016, and mass production is planned for early 2017.
A prototype of new LCD module will be showcased at the Embedded Systems Expo 2016 (East 12-65), May 11-13, at Tokyo Big Sight in Japan, and also at Display Week 2016, May 24-26 in San Francisco, California, USA, in booth 905.
